Amrit Parhar
Amrit Parhar knows how to turn ideas into action. In her work as a director of programs for a non-profit, she believes that storytelling and collective action are the keys to igniting social change.
Throughout her career, she has fought for refugees and newcomer rights, early childhood educators, healthcare workers, youth, and those who have been marginalized and impacted by gender-based violence and more.
As an expert education facilitator and community-driven organizer, Amrit has completed the Train the Trainer program certification through the Leading Change Network. She holds a bachelor's degree in criminology and a master's degree in Immigration and Settlement Studies from Toronto Metropolitan University.
Amrit believes in giving every Canadian a voice — not just those at the top. She will bring a fresh perspective to Toronto–St. Paul's and be our champion in Ottawa.
